On the request of Praveen Bhotkar, the founder president of "Maharashtra State Rugan Sevak and Shramik Kamgar Sanghatana"a meeting was held with Energy Minister Nitin Raut regarding the expansion of Paras Thermal Power  plant. Minister Nitin Raut said that, if permission is given by the Centre, then I would be happy to expand the thermal power plant in Paras first. But it is impossible to expand it now. The state government is positive about local project victims and will support any decision taken by the central government. Pravin Bhotkar told that the land acquired for Thermal Power Plant is now a solar power project and it will prove to be a fraud for the farmers.while talking to our correspondent bhotkar further stated that.

The wage of 15,000 being paid to the project affected workers is too low and there has been a demand to increase it to 25,000. There is a clear indication that the central and state governments are in favor of the solar power project. Meanwhile, the fight for the local farmers, unemployed and project victims will continue, clarified the association's president Praveen Bhotka. Balapur constituency MLA Nitin Deshmukh has also demanded that there should be a thermal power plant in Paras and justice should be done for the victims of the project.
